Ha-Kaddosh Baruch , "The Holy One, Blessed be He"
This should be haKaddosh, Baruch Hu. |

| Since coming here I've seen that "HIS" name is spelled "G-d" So when speaking of him verbally, what do you say.....and if it's a Hebrew word, please spell it so I know how to say it.... Thanks, Vella _________________ Be gentle with yourself and others and reflect the light of Christ.

you get over the fact that God actually wants us to use His name and say it
Yahweh
Its not too hard. He uses it close to if not 7000 in the Old Testiment scripture, and puts alot of meaning on it. He commanded that Yahweh was His Name to be REMEMBERED from generation to generation.
As for the commandment - our current translations do not tell the whole truth.
Deuteronomy 5:11 You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
Exodus 20:7 You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
The Third Commandment had to be rewritten to justify the unjustifiable. "You shall not take the name" isn't how Yahuweh began. Nasa' doesn't mean "take." It means "lift up, carry forward, and bear." Today, we would use, "promote, advocate, or tolerate," to convey nasa's meaning. "'Adon-Lord your God" isn't actually in the text, either. Yahweh said, "Yahuweh," not Lord, so who are we to edit our Maker? Then God engraved shav' in stone. It means "desolate or lifeless" - the worst of all possible consequences. He did not use the Hebrew words for vain in the sense of lightly, frivolously, arrogantly, or failed. Had He wished to do so, He could have chosen perfectly good Hebrew words to communicate any or all of those thoughts. To "lightly esteem" in a "frivolous" way so as to "disregard or ignore" is nabel. To lightly esteem in the sense of "trifling with" in a "contemptible fashion" is qalal. Vanity in the sense of "arrogance or pride" is ga'avah. "Failure," in the sense of having tried in vain, is raphah or karath. So why would Yahuweh say that the advocacy and tolerance of "shav'-desolation and lifelessness" in His name was unforgivable if He meant frivolity, disregard, arrogance, or failure were unforgivable? If these things are beyond redemption, why bother with salvation? All of us are guilty of failing to keep the standard, of being frivolous, ignorant, and arrogant. But we are not all guilty of advocating lifeless religious and political doctrines or of arrogantly disregarding Yahuweh's name.
Yah wants a personal relationship - Father to child, Husband to wife, so lets get one thing right eh? He wants us to use His Name because it is our family mark.
Sorry if that was too strong, but I hate the things of Man and love the things of my Father. I love you guys, I have been reading through Juski alot I mean no disrespect, I just want to offer what I have discovered - if anyone is offended about what I have said, I find it highly offencive to write things like "G-d" and "Lord", so where are my rights?
hope that is interesting
Peace and blessings to you all!!!

| I love studying the names of God. It's awesome - He is so diverse that lots of names are needed to even try to understand Him. |

| In the Jewish community His name is revered. So much so that it was only spoken on Yom Kippur and only by the High Priest. There is no where in scripture that I see HaShem demanding that we commonly use his name. There are many admonitions against using it improperly or commonly. Yeshua called him , Abba, so shall I. |

| Pleased to make your aquaintence, Robski; Shalom, and thank you for what you have brought to the board. I believe the Psalmist has the traditional grasp for the sake of these boards, yes? | Quote: | ="Robski Deuteronomy 5:11 You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
Exodus 20:7 You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
.. so who are we to edit our Maker? Then God engraved shav' in stone. It means "desolate or lifeless" - the worst of all possible consequences. |
Your preshious find may be the bace of that fragrence - recognisable among us, while we are not yet able to express more then is here.
humn.. So we are not to make His Shem desolate or lifeless... HisShem=H'Shem ..
As barron - That Is lifeless .. desolate..
