Have you gone into the preview? If so you just click on one and it should appear in your post.

Well, where you write your "quick reply" at the top there are all sorts of little...thingos....that says, sizes..for the size of your font, then a big capital A which will give your the colour of your type, then the smilies...if you click on the little black down arrow next to the smilie face, all sorts of things will come up...that's all I use. I've decided to adopt blue for my type colour and the little queens head as my signature...sort of.... it's easy...and trust me...IF I CAN DO IT....ANYONE CAN....

Hope it works for you, I don't know the ins and outs of this board yet but many have an option where you can shut off smilies, not sure if that's the case here or not.
