my wireless router has been a pain today constantly dropping connections, so I have binned it and gone back to my out of date voyager 210.

don't just come on as a guest, sign in and join in. The more sign in, the bigger we get and the more friends you make.

All the best

As far as "modern technology" goes....I'm slipping behind very quickly. I have a mobile phone, but barely know how to answer it, it's only for emergencies anyway. I have no idea how to text messages. I don't have broadband on my computer, so when I'm on line, no one can ring me on the land line, so I have to have my mobile phone on then for anyone who wants to ring me. I can send emails, and put on attachments like photos etc...most of the time....I am a good touch typist, so that helps. Learned it in high school and worked as a typist. Have no idea what...blogs, rams, bites etc are....but I usually end up doing most of what I want to do. Thankfully we have friends who know a lot about all these things and they've been very helpful. I'm afraid the modern world is passing me by.......confused

I suppose I am lucky, because before I became a psych nurse, I was a nerd for a living. Building them, mending them, selling them, and then programming them.

But the worst thing is when the pastor of the church knocks on the door at midnight, and asks if you can urgently sort it out for him as his sermon notes are on there for the following day. Needless to say I went (dressed in my pyjamas - england's cold) and spent a couple of hours repairing the mess.

Steve

p.s. i have a mobile phone - hate them (never in privacy)

Computer "nerds" make lots of money these days don't they? But no doubt being a psych nurse is much more challenging !!

it's not true so much nowadays. In the good old days before windows, life was a beach for anyone aquainted with the dark arts of IRQ's and DMA, and if you understood such things as LDA and MOV you had it sorted.

Then windows came along and spoiled everything. Now anyone can work there computer (pretty much) and problems are sorted with rollback functions.

However when things really go badly wrong, who do they call....

Steve

p.s. greetings to everyone
