| Steven, Why is this here? This is a section on history?
I think you put it in for me?
I love history. Which part of history shall we talk about first? Can we start with the Romans? I love Roman history. Before Zak was born I wanted to go to Rome to see the sights but my boss wouldnt let me have the time off cos she was going to China at the time I wanted to go to Rome:x
Not been yet, would still like to go, so get saving Holmesy!
I think it woul be good so start there as that is the time worlds collided when Jesus was born.

| Roman history bores me rigid. Little to recent for my tastes. I prefer something more exotic (Egyptian), much more exciting. All of those strange glyphs and stuff. much better than Latin (that's a school subject). | |

| When did you ever learn latin?
If you had you'd be better at Spanish than you are!

| No I disagree, I recently read a book called "the empire strikes out". It is a look at the rise and fall of empires. The roman empire is one of the longest, if not the longest running empires. I think that it need to last that long to allow the message of christianinty to spead through its empire using its infrastructure. | |

| Their theory centered on the effects of Christianity on the general population. The examples I remember were the soldiers did not fight as violently as they had in the past and the people didn't really support conquering and ruling over other people. -
It was just this person's theory.

| This is a good forum, I love ancient history. I just got a video on Pergumum and when I watch it, we can talk about it in this forum, I have a special interest of course because it was one of the seven churches John was told to write to. | |
